It felt as if I was staying with a relative in Nikko. Yuji, the owner gave us the best room in the house with nice views of the mountains and since it was close to a stream, you get to hear sound of nature which was very relaxing. excellent accommodation if you are on budget. We had a pleasant stay in Nikko!
It was a bit far from the train station but Yuji is always willing to pick us up and drop us off...

Very comfortable room, helpful owner/ manager. Food available at extra cost. Ten minute walk to bus, train but owner picked us up and dropped us back despite not being asked. Walk to everything of interest in town, including the historical shrines and temples.

Hi, we enjoyed to stay in Narusawa Lodge, just 10 min by walk from Nikko Station. Its a quiet place and Yuji, the owner, is a very sympatic gentle personn. He gaves us some advise about the Nikko visiting area..very useful. Our room, on lobby, was confortable, nice, japanese tradition with tatami and small table and very clean. Price is reasonnable and acceptable. I recommend this adress.

Yuji is an excellent host and will make you feel very welcome during your stay - he will even meet you at the train station or offer to drive you to a local onsen for free! I highly recommend Narusawa Lodge if you are looking for a minshuku (guesthouse) with traditional Japanese style rooms.

The room is very big, clean, and comfortable. Owner of the lodge is very kind and English is quiet well.
The distance from station to lodge is about 15 to 20 minutes by walking, and the location can't find easily in the dark night.

+ Yuji and his family were very good hosts + The room I was in had a heater, and was very clean and comfortable + Unlimited tea and coffee, and very nice bathing facilities + It rained on my last day, and Yuji generously gave me an umbrella to keep, 500 yen to store my luggage at the station so I could walk around more, and a ride back to the station :) + Yuji gave rides to the onsen nearby, which had both outdoor and indoor baths, and great ice cream + Good western breakfast with salad, eggs, sausages, yogurt, juice, coffee, toast for 515 yen brought to your room if you tell him at least 2 days earlier! + Fast 12 minute walk downhill to the bus/train stations for tobu and JR
- the walk uphill to the ryokan is not super easy if you have a heavy piece of luggage, and if there is snow on the ground. I would also not recommend trying to walk it in the snow when the sun has already set.

Wonderful customer service from the owner who gave us information about the local area and even a lift to the local onsen and the train station. Very comfortable futon to sleep on. Nice to experience a traditional Japanese room. Good breakfast. Good facilities to make your own hot drinks and food. Nice location with views of the mountains.
